2012 New Admittee Luncheon will feature Interim Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum

Don't forget to mark your calendars for this year's Mary Leonard Law Society New Admittee Luncheon!

What: New Admittee Luncheon
When: Wednesday, November 14 at 12:00 noon
Where: Gamberetti's Italian Restaurant

MLLS is honored to welcome Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum as this year's keynote speaker. The 2012 essay contest winner will also be announced. The luncheon is from noon to 1:00 pm. General admission is $15, payable by cash, check, or credit card at the door or by mailing a check beforehand to Mary Leonard Law Society at PO Box 773, Salem, OR 97308. It has been a wonderful year for the Mary Leonard Law Society and I am so proud of all the we have accomplished.

The Monte Carlo Casino Night on May 11, 2012, was a lot of fun and we raised much-needed funding for Liberty House and the Mid Valley Women's Crisis Service. Thank you to those who joined us for this special event and to our generous sponsors:

DONATE TO MARION-POLK FOOD SHARE IN 2012

A big 'THANK YOU' to everyone who turned out for the December 2012 Child Abuse Reporting CLE!

Winter is a particularly difficult time for many in need in our community. The Marion-Polk Food Share plays a critical role in providing resources and assistance to so many. Because we understand that every little bit helps, the Mary Leonard Law Society donated the proceeds of the December 2012 CLE to the Marion-Polk Food Share - over $400 - and attendees generously offered non-perishable and canned food items.

Although the holiday season is over, the need is not. Please join us in giving to the Food Share this winter!

Donations can be made out to the Marion-Polk Food Share and mailed to the Food Share at 1660 Salem Industrial Dr NE, Salem, OR 97301. Donations can also be made by visiting the Food Share's website: http://www.marionpolkfoodshare.org/Donate/tabid/531/Default.aspx.

MARY LEONARD LAW SOCIETY MEMBERS HONORED FOR SERVICE CONTRIBUTIONS

On November 9, 2011, Mary Leonard members Presiding Magistrate Jill Tanner and Pro Tem Magistrate Allison Boomer were honored by the Oregon State Bar for their service contributions.

Presiding Magistrate Tanner was awarded the President's Membership Service Award for her many mentoring and service activities, including participation on the Convocation on Equality's diversity directory committee.

Pro Tem Magistrate Boomer received the Oregon New Lawyers Division Member Service Award in recognition of her efforts in engaging and energizing new attorneys in both Salem and Portland.
